The Regional Project Monitoring Committee conducted problem solving session (PSS) for the Department of Health (DOH) Health Facilities Enhancement Project (HFEP) in Cuenca, Batangas on 22 July 2015. The recipients of the project were the Martin Marasigan Memorial Hospital (MMMH) and Cuenca Rural Health Unit. The issues and concerns discussed were a) delay in project implementation; b) difficulty in acquiring permits; c) compliance to the standards of DOH; and d) fund constraints.

A coordination meeting among the project stakeholders was conducted after the PSS of MMMH. The following were the agreements and recommendation during the meeting: a) regular coordination among the hospital, contractor, DOH and the province on the progress of the project; b) percentage of accomplishment shall be supported with computation; c) close and regular coordination with the contractor during construction period; d) minor alterations requested by the end user must be acted upon by the contractor; e) construction must follow timeline; and f) devise a harmonization policy between DPWH and DOH on the cost estimates (e.g. DPWH complete per scope of work v.s.DOH complete as functional). The PSS for the Cuenca RHU resulted to the additional allocation of P3 million from DOH.
