The Regional Development Council (RDC) through the Regional Information and Communications Technology Committee (RICTC), conducted a workshop for the Calabarzon Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Strategic Plan 2016-2022, last July 29 hosted by De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, Cavite and DICT Luzon Cluster.
The workshop aimed to formulate the vision, strategies and action plan for ICT development. Dr. Antonio del Carmen, chairperson of the RICTC, in his message, emphasized the pivotal position of Calabarzon in the ICT industry and the importance of having an ICT Strategic Plan.
Dr. Felipe G. Balingit, Jr. and Dr. Ma. Leonor E. Alusen of the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Laguna, on the other hand, presented the status of implementation of the Service Management Program of IT Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) while Mr. Kenneth Irvin Garcia of IBPAP shared the initiatives of the IT-Business Process Management Industry related to ICT development.
Asst. Regional Director Gina T. Gacusan of the NEDA Regional Office (NRO) IV-A facilitated the workshop wherein participants were able to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in ICT. The participants also defined the goals, targets, strategies and action plan for each of the ICT pillars namely: talent development, infrastructure, enabling environment and promotions.
The workshop was participated in by DLSU – Dasmariñas, IBPAP, Capital One Company, NICP, DOST, DTI, DICT, CHED, DBM, DepEd, DOLE, NEDA, NTC, PSA, PIA, PPA-Batangas, BatStateU, LSPU, SLSU, University of Batangas, PPDO Batangas, PPDO Cavite, PPDO Laguna, PPDO Quezon, and PPDO Rizal.
