The Calabarzon Regional Development Council conducted a community outreach activity in Barangays Bamban, Landing and Mapulot Tagkawayan, Quezon on 31 August 2017.

School and dental supplies, nutritional snacks, milk, cupcakes and slippers were distributed to 1020 students. During the one-day outreach activity, students and parents availed of the medical and dental services. Seeds and malongs were given to parents. Programs and services of participating agencies were launched for public awareness.

The outreach activity in Tagkawayan, Quezon was participated by representatives from the regional offices of NEDA, Solcom, DOH, DOST, DA, DSWD, League of Planners – Southern Luzon, SLSU and Zobel Foundation, DOLE, DTI, PICE, Kabisig ng Kalahi, Carmona LGU, Office of Congresswoman Angelina Tan and Tagkawayan LGU.
The activity was led by Dir. Luis Banua of NEDA IV-A, Col. Peal Jon Bondoc of SolCom, ARD Ruby Constantino of DOH, Pres. Milo Placino of SLSU, Dir. Leticia Diokno of DSWD, PSR Joselito Rodriguez of Zobel Foundation, Engr. Mildred Purificacion of League of Local Planners, Prov. Dir. Maria Esperanza Jawili of DOST Quezon, Councilor Danilo Liwanag as Representative of Cong. Tan and Mayor Jose Jonas Frondoso of LGU Tagkawayan.

The RDC plans to conduct another outreach activity among the 35 poverty convergence areas in the region to raise the visibility of national agencies and development partners and improve delivery of public goods and services.
The community outreach in Tagkawayan Quezon was an offshoot of the meeting between NEDA Region 4A Director Luis G. Banua and SolCom Former Lieutenant General Ferdinand F. Quidilla. Specific areas in Tagkawayan, Quezon are vulnerable to the influence of insurgents due to poverty and inaccessibility of communities for government services.
