Representatives of the participating agencies and development partners distributed school supplies, dental and hygienic kits, slippers, snacks, slippers, towels, and underwear to the elementary pupils.

The Calabarzon Regional Development Council, the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Southern Tagalog, the AFP-Southern Luzon Command (SOLCOM), private sectors, and other development partners conducted the RDC Community Outreach Activity and Yakap Bayan: Community Mobilization Support Program in Sariaya, Quezon on July 5, 2018.

DOH Region IV-A, DepEd Region IV-A, and SOLCOM provides medical and dental services to the pupils and parents.

More than 1,000 elementary school pupils from the three barangay elementary schools of Castañas Elementary School in Barangay Castañas; Guis-guis San Roque Elementary School in Barangay Guis-guis San Roque; and Lutgarda Causapin Elementary School in Barangay Guis-guis Talon were given school supplies, dental and hygienic kits, food packs, micronutrient powder, slippers, underwear, and towels. Medical and dental services were provided to the pupils and residents of the said barangays as well as haircuts for the students. Agricultural supplies and solar lamps were given to the barangays.

Asec. Anton Hernandez of DSWD and Dir. Luis G. Banua of NEDA Region IV-A turns over Micronutrient powder (Vitamix) from Kabisig ng Kalahi, and slippers and underwear from DSWD Region IV-A to the school representatives while DA turns over agriculture and fishery supplies to the barangay.

This is the second Outreach Activity conducted by the RDC. The RDC plans to conduct the same for the 35 poverty convergence areas in the Region to increase government support to less developed areas and raise the visibility of the national agencies and development partners.

“Kami ay narito para iparamdam na mahal kayo ng gobyerno at hangarin namin ang inyong kaunlaran at ang kapayapaan”, said Dir. Luis G. Banua of NEDA Region IV-A and RDC Vice Chair.
