The Sectoral Committee on Economic Development (SCED) endorsed the Establishment of the RDC Forest Park Project in Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City, Rizal during its 2018 third quarter meeting on August 10 at Hotel Marciano, Barangay Real, Calamba City.
The Project, under the 2018 SCED Banner Program, is consistent with one of the goals stated in the Chapter 20 of the Calabarzon Regional Development Plan 2017-2022 that is to intensify protection and sustainable management of forest, watershed, coastal and marine and land through adoption of ridge to reef approach.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region IV-A was requested to prepare the proposal on the total available area for the Project and how will it be sub-divided among the RDC members for adoption. The RDC Forest Park will be adopted for the tree growing activities of the RDC.
The Committee also endorsed the Updated RDIP 2017 to 2022 and Guidelines for the FY 2020 RDC Budget Review which translates the development strategies of the RDP into programs and projects and guides AROs and SUCs in the preparation of their budget proposals for FY 2020, respectively.
The meeting was presided over by Committee Chairperson Mr. Richard Albert Osmond of PHILEA and was hosted by the National Irrigation Administration Region IV-A under the leadership of Regional Manager Romeo Lopez.
