More than one thousand residents of Brgy. San Diego in the municipality of Lian, Batangas received government aid and assistance during an Outreach Activity held on August 10, 2018 at San Diego Elementary School under the Yakap Bayan: Community Mobilization and Support Program.

A total of 740 students received school supplies including food packs and rain coats. Members of the community received financial assistance, food for work for drug surrenderers, vegetable seeds, free medical and dental services as well as free manicure, pedicure, haircut and massage from different government agencies that brought their programs, projects and services. Residents also received free livelihood seminars and trainings on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management. The community of Brgy. San Diego also received the Community Fish Landing Center and agricultural seeds, books, equipment, working gears and food items. The financial assistance include: grant of PhP 100,000.00 to a centenarian and pay out of unconditional cash transfers for social pension and listahanan beneficiaries.

The outreach, which aimed to bring government services closer to the community, was made possible through the contribution of different government agencies including AFP, PNP, DSWD, BFAR, DA, DepEd, DOH, DOLE, DOST, NEDA, OCD, TESDA and the Provincial Government of Batangas as partners of the Yakap Bayan: Community Mobilization and Support Program. Batangas State University joined the community outreach.

The Yakap Bayan: Community Mobilization and Support Program is an inter-agency convergence effort initiated by Secretary Jose Maria Nicomedes Hernandez of the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Southern Tagalog for promoting development and addressing issues on peace and order, and security and social protection in the region.
