The LGUs of CALABARZON were reminded to comply with the Ease of Doing Business Law during the CALABARZON Sectoral Committee on Macroeconomy and Development Administration (SCMDA) 3rd Quarter Meeting last August 11, 2020.
The Committee’s action stems from feedback received from private individuals on certain practices of some local government units that violates the law on Ease of Doing Business. Among the complaints cited were non issuance of receipts for payments to facilitate release of documents and indefinite date of release of documents. These complaints were mostly from individuals applying for land reclassification. These practices resulted to increase in expenses and to some extent discouraged investments in these LGUs.
In order to strengthen the implementation of Ease of Doing Business in CALABARZON, the Committee asked government agencies to fully establish a citizen’s feedback mechanism which will encourage filing of complaints on irregularities committed by any government offices for appropriate actions.
