The Provincial Government of Cavite, through the leadership of Governor Jesus Crispin C. Remulla, hosted the 2nd Quarter Regional Development Council (RDC) Full Council meeting on 7 June 2017 at the Taal Vista Hotel, Tagaytay City.
Governor Remulla welcomed the members and guests of the RDC and shared the development programs of the Provincial Government of Cavite. Among his priority projects is the establishment of a fiber optic internet backbone, faster internet that will attract more investors in Cavite.
During the meeting, the RDC approved the Regional Development Investment Program 2017-2022 prioritization criteria that will identify sectoral and regional priority programs and projects of the Region. The RDC also confirmed the endorsement of the Cavite Industrial Area Flood Risk Management Project to the NEDA-Investment Coordination Committee. The project will address the flooding in Noveleta, Rosario, Gen. Trias City, Kawit and Imus City which will improve the living environment and quality of life in these areas.
The RDC also approved/endorsed the RDRRMC Rehabilitation and Recovery Plan, the inclusion of Salaban CIS in the Action Plan on Water Pollution in Batangas, and Laguna de Bay Basin Master Plan.
Individuals and organizations who brought honor to the Region and inspired others to excel or contribute to the socio-economic development of the Region were given awards. The Calabarzon Champion Award was given to Mr. Danilo N. Posion as National Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar 2016 and to Regional Director Alexander R. Madrigal as First Quarter 2016 CES VIP awardee. The Lingkod RDC Award was given to RD Jose D. De Guzman of NICA Region IV and RD Luisita S. Dela Cruz of TESDA Region IV-A for their services and contribution to the RDC and development of the Region.
The RDC also gave Special Awards to the Province of Laguna for its outstanding Provincial Project Monitoring Committee and San Pablo City for its outstanding City Project Monitoring Committee while a Certificate of Special Recognition was given to the Provinces of Batangas and Quezon for commendable activities of their Provincial Project Monitoring Committees.
The RDC confirmed Mr. Rodolfo S. San Felipe as the Geographic Private Sector Representative of the Province of Rizal.
