The CALABARZON Regional Development Council (RDC) in its bid to capacitate the technical staff of its members conducted the Training on Technical Secretariat Services last November 28 to 29 at Bayleaf Hotel, General Trias, Cavite.
As the head of the technical secretariat to the RDC, NEDA Region IV-A Regional Director Luis G. Banua and Assistant Regional Director Gina T. Gacusan served as resource persons. The topics discussed during the training include roles of the secretariat; meeting dynamics; basics of good writing; doctrine of Completed Staff Work; tips on technical writing; writing reports, letters and resolutions; and the Philippine Protocol.
Director Banua emphasized the important role of the secretariat as vital support to decision-makers during meetings and in the preparation, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of the development plans, programs, projects, and policies.
Forty-four participants from local government units and regional line agencies attended the training. Participants who excelled in English exercises were recognized during the training.
The training of RDC members and technical staff is one of the priority activities of the RDC to improve the coordination and facilitation work during the conduct of meetings and other related activities. This is the second Training on Secretariat Services conducted by the RDC since 2018.
