The RDC honored Joel Dela Costa with the CALABARZON Champion Award during its First Quarter 2020 RDC Full Council Meeting on March 12 in Calamba City, Laguna.
Dela Costa, a high school teacher of Boot National High School in Tanauan City, is one of the national awardees in the 2019 Search for Outstanding Volunteers under the Individual-Adult category by the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency. He voluntarily organized free eye operations, cleft palate surgeries and medical missions in the marginalized communities of CALABARZON.
During the same meeting, the CALABARZON RDC also recognized public servants, local chief executives, regional directors, and private sector representatives (PSRs) with the Dedicated Service Award. The Bronze Award is given to members who have served for at least 5 years while the Silver Award is given for those who have served at least 10 years. The Gold Award is given for those with at least 15 years in the RDC and Platinum for those at 20 years of dedicated service.
The Bronze Dedicated Service Award was given to Director Luis Banua of NEDA Region IV-A, Mayor Arlene Arcillas of Santa Rosa City, PSR Emerson Atanacio, PSR Victoria Wieneke, PSR Hyacinth Oblea and PSR Ruel Punzalan.
Governor Mandanas, PSR Lina Lutgarda Tanjuataco, PSR Rodrigo Camia, PSR Teresita Leabres, and PSR Richard Albert Osmond received the Silver Award.
PSR Josephine Parilla and Director Alexander Madrigal of DOST Region IV-A were granted the Gold Award while the Platinum Award was given to PSR Ladislao Andal and Director Marilou Toledo of DTI Region IV-A.
