The CALABARZON Regional Development Council (RDC) conducted a workshop to determine the status of projects included in the Investment Program of the Taal Rehabilitation and Recovery Program last October 13. The workshop, which was conducted through a video conference, focused on the projects proposed by local government units (LGUs) for funding by national government agencies.
In his opening remarks, RDC Vice-Chairperson and NEDA Region IV-A Director Luis Banua emphasized the need to facilitate funding and implementation of the programs and projects to realize the outcomes of the Taal RRP. He added that it is the RDC’s mandate to coordinate the development, funding and implementation of projects in the region. Twenty regional line agencies presented the list of projects that were already funded and the requirements for projects to be included in their budget proposal for FY2022. This information is vital for the LGUs so they can prepare the required documents before the budget review of the RDC.
RDC Co-Chairperson Ladislao Andal, in his closing statement, requested the concerned LGUs to continue preparing their projects and eventually submit the requirements to the concerned agencies. He said that the RDC will ensure the consideration of the Taal RRP projects in the budget of the agencies during the RDC FY 2022 Budget Review.
