Ninety-eight solar lamps were given to the Dumagat Tribe in Sitio Tala, Barangay Mamuyao, Tanay, Rizal by RDC CALABARZON as part of its 7th CALABARZON RDC Outreach Activity.  The solar lamp set given includes a radio and a charging port which is powered by a small solar panel.

Funds to purchase the solar lamps was made possible through the proceeds from the RDC Coins Recirculation Program and the donations from RDC members and NEDA Region IV-A staff.

The CALABARZON RDC regularly conducts community outreach activities to extend assistance to families that are in geographically isolated or disadvantaged areas.  Assistance have been in the form of school supplies for children, food packages, medicines and recently, solar lamps.  

The 7th RDC Community Outreach Activity was held in celebration of the 2019 National Indigenous Peoples’ (IP) Month with the theme “Empowering Indigenous Peoples through the Whole-of-Nation Approach.
The activity was supported by 21 line agencies, 4 private sector organizations, 1 local government unit, and 2 state universities and benefited a total of 163 elementary pupils, 97 Dumagat Households, and 200 households of Barangay Mamuyao.
