A virtual meeting was convened by NEDA Region IV-A to facilitate the provision of assistance by regional line agencies and a state university to the Municipality of Panukulan in Quezon under its Adopt-A-Municipality Initiative (AAMI). The regional offices of DOH, DOST, BFAR, DepED and DA, and the Southern Luzon State University provided updates on their commitments to the Municipality.
The AAMI is one of NEDA Region IV-A banner activities in partnership with the different implementing agencies/ offices in providing assistance to selected municipalities with development issues. The assistance for the Municipality of Panukulan started in September 2019 when development assistance/interventions were jointly identified by Municipality, regional line agencies, and NEDA. Some of the commitments delivered to the Municipality include the upgrading of community facilities for waste management, assistance on fishery production and livelihood, oil-processing technology, and construction of classrooms under the DepEd’s Last Mile Project in the second semester of 2021.
In anticipation to the increase of the internal revenue allotments of LGUs in 2022, NEDA will provide technical assistance to the Municipality of Panukulan in the areas of planning, investment programming and project monitoring and evaluation to maximize the utilization of their additional revenue next year.
