The Sectoral Committee on Infrastructure Development pushed the infrastructure connectivity in Quezon Province by endorsing the Real-Infanta-General Nakar (REINA) interconnectivity initiatives to the CALABARZON Regional Development Council during its second quarter meeting on May 18.
The initiatives include the preparation of REINA Infrastructure Connectivity Plan, construction of bridges along General Nakar-Dingalan Road, and water supply project in Barangay Umiray, General Nakar. The connectivity plan aims to harmonize the infrastructure development frameworks, policies and programs of government agencies and the local government units in the REINA Area. It will also complement the proposed Luzon Pacific Highway and tourism in the area. Likewise, the construction of bridges will provide access in the remote areas of municipalities of General Nakar in Quezon and Dingalan in Aurora. The provision of water supply facility by the MWSS for Barangay Umiray, which hosts the Kaliwa Dam Project, was also endorsed.
Other initiatives to the REINA municipalities include economic, agriculture and tourism development which are spearheaded by the RDC Sectoral Committees on Economic and Social Development. The Infrastructure Committee also discussed the status of its banner projects, namely, transport management, flood control study, and proposed CALABARZON Transport Masterplan.
