The CALABARZON Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) conferred the City of Biñan, Laguna as Outstanding GAD Implementer for 2021 for demonstrating exemplary practices and achievements in localizing the Magna Carta for Women and mainstreaming GAD in their vision, mission, development goals and programs in their locality.
The recognition was the result of the Search for Outstanding GAD Implementer (SOGADI) that recognizes exemplary GAD mainstreaming efforts of institutions and individuals, and to further promote the use of GAD tools and processes in the Region. The 2021 SOGADI used the Enhanced Gender Responsive LGU (GeRL) Assessment Tool for the LGUs to promote the use and adoption of the tool among LGUs which was demonstrated by the City of Biñan.
The RGADC also endorsed special citations to Cavite State University for the SUC category, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region IV-A for the RLA category, and Dr. Ruby Brion for the individual category for obtaining high marks in their respective categories.
The City of Biñan will be awarded during the 2022 1st Quarter Regional Development Council (RDC) Full Council Meeting on March 10 while the special citations will be awarded during the 1st Quarter Sectoral Committee on Macroeconomy and Development Administration (SCMDA) meeting on February 11.
