The RICTC conducts the first semester meeting via video conference.

The CALABARZON Regional Information and Communications Technology Committee (RICTC) discussed and promoted the need to organize and stengthen the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Councils of the local government units (LGUs) in the CALABARZON during its first semester meeting on May 20 via video conference.

The ICT Council is a multi-stakeholder organization composed of LGU, academe, business community or ICT support groups. The primary objective of the ICT Councils is to develop the local ecosystem of infrastructures, talents, and the business environment suitable for the IT-BPM Industry and Digital Economy.

The RICTC recommended DICT Region IV-A to coordinate with DILG Region IV-A to come-up with workable interventions to enjoin LGUs in the region to create local ICT Councils, and improve the ICT environment in their localities. At present, DICT is implementing various ICT projects for the LGUs like Smart City Project, Digital Cities, among others.

Other important topics discussed during the meeting were Cybersecurity, Digital Governance Awards, Digital Startup Development and Acceleration Program, DigitalJobsPH Technical Training, DepEd Initiatives for Progressive Expansion of Face to Face Classes and ICT Provincial Reports.

The RICTC will continue to monitor and facilitate the implementation of ICT Programs in the Region.
