PSRs and NRO IV-A Officials during the PSRs End of Term Assessment Activity.

The Private Sector Representatives (PSRs) of the CALABARZON Regional Development Council (RDC) assessed their accomplishments as RDC-PSRs from 2019 to 2022 on June 29 at the NEDA Regional Office IV-A in Calamba City, Laguna. The assessment of the PSRs’ major accomplishments highlighted the PSRs’ initiatives and their advocacies for the socioeconomic development of the region, which will serve as inputs to the next set of PSRs.

Among the accomplishments reported include the review and enhancement of the CALABARZON RDC Ground Rules and Regulations and the PSRs Selection Guidelines. The PSRs emphasized the need to enhance the selection process for private sector membership in the RDC and its Committees for the succeeding terms. The PSRs also participated in various convergence activities and provided significant inputs to the investment programs, rehabilitation and recovery programs, and development plans of the region. They also supported the region’s socioeconomic recovery due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and other calamities, through various outreach activities and relief operations. Further, the PSRs spearheaded the Adopt-A-Family initiative, an RDC-PSRs’ program to address pockets of poverty and workers’ displacement in CALABARZON due to COVID-19.

RDC Co-Chairperson Engr. Ladisalo L. Andal and NEDA Regional Director Luis G. Banua expressed their gratitude to the PSRs for their significant accomplishments, and to the NEDA Region 4A Staff for providing excellent support and technical assistance. The term of the PSRs coincides with the reorganization of the RDC and the regular term of the local elective officials. The election of the next set of PSRs is in August 2022.
