The CALABARZON Committee on Disaster Rehabilitation and Recovery (CDRR), during its second quarter meeting on June 30, 2022, endorsed the Updated Rehabilitation and Recovery Thematic Pillar Plan (RRTPP) to the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC).
The updating of the RRTPP will form part of the Updated CALABARZON Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (RDRRMP) 2020-2030, along with the Prevention and Mitigation, Preparedness, and Response Thematic Pillar Plans.
The RRTPP identifies programs, projects, and activities that cover recovery efforts related to employment and livelihoods, infrastructure and lifeline facilities, and housing and resettlement to bring the affected areas and communities back to normal as quickly as possible while adopting sustainable development and “build back better” principles.
Consistent with the National DRRMP 2020-2030, the RRTPP is comprised of six outcomes with 12 outputs that aim to assess damages, losses, and post-disaster needs as the basis for the formulation of rehabilitation and recovery program; and develop short and medium-term rehabilitation and recovery programs that are aligned with national, regional, or local development plans. A total of 84 specific activities will be implemented by various implementing agencies including the regional offices of the Office of Civil Defense, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Agriculture, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Department of Public Works and Highways.
As RDRRMC’s Vice-Chairperson for disaster rehabilitation and recovery, the National Economic and Development Authority Region IV-A led the preparation of the Thematic Pillar Plan through a series of orientation and workshop.
